In July, 2000, Jensen Construction Company was awarded an $ 11,471,000 project to construct a new bridge on Highway 75 over the Kansas River in Topeka, Kansas.  The project required Jensen to remove the existing structure down to water level and then to build the new structure utilizing the remaining substructure along with new drilled shaft foundations.  The new 11-span superstructure is 1760 foot long and is supported on steel plate girders.  The project was successfully completed in the spring of 2002.
