A
Joint Venture of Hill Bros & Jensen Construction, this project is the east
approach to the Mississippi River crossing on US 82 in Greenville, MS. This
approach is 8,500 feet long, which includes 6,500 feet of bridge. The bridge is
92 feet wide and up to 100 feet high. The bridge will be constructed of 50,000
lf of 4’ & 5.5’ diameter drilled shafts; 63,000 cy of concrete; 12,000,000 lb of
reinforcing steel; 50,000 lf of concrete girders; and 16,500,000 lb of
structural steel. The roadway will be constructed of 130,000 cy of embankment
and 17,000 tons of asphalt.
