Job Title:          Field Engineer

Department:     Jensen Construction Company - South Division

Reports To:      Job Superintendent

FLSA Status:    Exempt

 

Summary

 

Monitors, maintains, and performs safety, survey, and project management functions on a bridge construction project by performing the following duties:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Maintain quality assurance requirements for the project including testing of construction materials.

 

Maintain project coordinates by performing the survey of structures and coordinating with additional survey subcontractors.

 

Inspect construction site to ensure conformance to Jensen safety requirements.

 

Monitor progress and verify that the work is being performed in accordance with the plans and specifications.

 

Assist the superintendent with the coordination of subcontractors and material suppliers.

 

Use computer to maintain project schedules.

 

Keep the Tulsa office apprised of current situation to help identify, mitigate and/or resolve potential site problems.

 

Maintain effective communication and coordination between Jensen and the project owner.

 

Coordinate and/or design the formwork and support structures necessary to construct the various portions of the bridge.

 

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                            

 

A 2 or 4 year degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management with bridge, heavy, or highway construction experience is preferred. In lieu of formal education, 7-10 years of field experience performing similar job duties will be accepted.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration.
